Katrina Bourdo is a psychotherapist, yoga therapist, and retreat facilitator with more than 15 years of experience working with Amazonian plant medicine, including Ayahuasca ceremonies and traditional dietas. Her own healing journey began with a search for recovery from trauma and evolved into a lifelong commitment to supporting others in integrating the wisdom of plant medicine into everyday life.

She is passionate about exploring how these two disciplines can complement one another, creating a more comprehensive, compassionate, and meaningful approach to healing while honoring both Indigenous traditions and psychological practice.

Professional Immersion Retreat for Psychedelic Practitioners & Researchers
A unique retreat designed for professionals working with psychedelic-assisted healing, as well as researchers exploring the therapeutic potential of psychedelics.
The October retreat will focus on Treatment-Resistant Depression (TRD), exploring both its clinical understanding and its spiritual dimensions. Participants will engage in a traditional shamanic dieta alongside Ayahuasca ceremonies, with a particular emphasis on perspectives that are often absent from conventional approaches to treating TRD. Together, we will explore why psychedelic-assisted therapy can be such a powerful catalyst for healing and transformation.

This Immersive experience offers professionals the rare opportunity to experience firsthand an aspect of traditional shamanic training while deepening their understanding of the ceremonial context from which many psychedelic practices originate. Although the retreat includes educational discussions and professional exchange, the experience itself is deeply personal. Each participant's journey unfolds according to their own background, intentions, and previous experience.
Many participants report gaining a greater capacity to hold space for others, a deeper understanding of visionary experiences and their symbolic meaning, and increased confidence in supporting clients through integration and transformation.

Discussion topics will include:

  • Treatment-Resistant Depression: clinical and spiritual perspectives
  • Psychedelic-assisted therapy for TRD
  • Traditional shamanic approaches and the role of the dieta
  • Meaning-making, visionary experiences, and therapeutic integration
  • Future directions in psychedelic research and clinical practice

This retreat is especially suited for therapists, facilitators, physicians, researchers, and other professionals who work with individuals experiencing Treatment-Resistant Depression or who are involved in research in this field.
As this is an intensive professional and ceremonial experience, an interview is required before registration to ensure the retreat is an appropriate fit for each participant.

Retreat price 3350 USD (does not include flights)
