I arrived here full of many fears and doubts. I originally just came to accompany my sister and I was convinced I wasn't going to participate in anything. I soon changed my mind when I met Don Mario and Mimi, who both assured me that I would have a good experience, and what an amazing experience I had! There aren't words to describe what I saw and what I felt. I was looked after during the ceremonies and it was gentle and very healing with lots of love and light. My treatment was personalised and Don Mario followed through on everything that I requested. Don Mario has a very humble and unassuming presence which hides the depth of his power and his knowledge. The location is very beautiful, immersed in the jungle surrounded by plants and trees. It was lovely having my own bungalow with an en-suite bathroom and balcony. Very comfortable. The staff was very friendly and polite. Lovely people! What can I say! A life changing experience and I am grateful to everyone involved. Thank you. - Anna, Italy

I spent a lovely week at Puka Yacu Retreat Center in Tamshiyacu. The place is neat and well kept with beautiful gardens. Each individual lodging space is pristine and probably among the best I've stayed at in all my time at retreat centers in Iquitos. The work and effort Mimi has invested creating a welcoming and clean environment is evident everywhere you look. The dieta meals are outstanding, well curated with fresh fish and typical dieta nutrition. I felt it to be a quiet and harmonious place to stay for plant dietas. Mimi hosts a variety of plant dietas and ayahuasca ceremonies. Her icaros are beautiful and she takes every individual process at heart. Her and her staff go out of their way to accommodate everyone's needs. Overall my experience was great and I will return to spend more quality time with myself in nature. - Marco Saramento, Peru

Mimi, thank you for an amazing week. The dieta was a fascinating addition to the ayahuasca experience. The facilities you have are very good and comfortable. I enjoyed the grounds around the camp as well. The flower bath and plant sauna were wonderful. Your staff are so friendly and welcoming.  Maestro Mario was extra special. I highly recommend your retreat. - Russell, Canada

This dieta was very different to the ones I did before at other places. The individual approach works great and everything I mentioned in the initial consultation was addressed. I also enjoyed this safe family space. All the little details were nice. -

Dear Mimi! Dear Maestro Mario! It was a wonderful retreat for the chiric sanango dieta. I appreciate with how much love, dedication and mindfulness you held the space and lead these intense days, with the dieta and the Ayahuasca ceremonies the venteadas and the conversations. I got so much teaching and healing. A special thanks goes to Techi and Denis who were always present, cooked and served my meals. They kept the place clean and tidy. Thank you so much for this!! Lots of love to all the team. - Evita, Germany

Mimi and Maestro Mario complement one another beautifully, creating a balanced, supportive, and nurturing environment. This makes the center particularly valuable for women seeking a safe and respectful space to engage in psychedelic healing in the Amazon. The comfortable private bungalows provide an ideal setting for reflection and healing, which may be especially appreciated by anyone who values privacy and comfort. The personalized approach—including customized dietas, small group sizes, and genuine individual attention—sets this center apart. I highly recommend this center to anyone wishing to support their physical, emotional, and psychological well-being through plant medicine and the wisdom of Amazonian shamanism. The knowledge, experience, and dedication of the shamans is truly impressive.-Katerina B, Canada

Dear MImi and Mario thank you for welcoming me to your beautiful camp. It was like a haven in the middle of the jungle., filled with flowers, fruit trees and nature. The ceremonies were amazing. You opened up the different realms and showed me the beauty of the Ayahuasca medicine. I have drank ayahuasca before but it was a totally different experience, dark sessions. This time I felt protected & it was gentle & beautiful. I loved the consultation that I had with Don Mario, discussing what problems I wanted to resolve. Techi & Denis were very helpful & kind. What a beautiful, peaceful place to do this internal work. Thank you again for providing this opportunity. I would highly recommend you. God bless you always. - Rosa, UK
