Ayahuasca Ceremonies

Ayahuasca Ceremonies

Ayahuasca, often called the vine of the soul, is a sacred medicine deeply rooted in the traditions of Amazonian shamanism. It is used for profound cleansing of the body, mind, and spirit, and is known for its visionary nature — opening doors to the unseen and guiding individuals toward healing, insight, and transformation.

The ayahuasca brew is traditionally prepared from two plants: the ayahuasca vine (Banisteriopsis caapi) and chacruna (Psychotria viridis). To enhance its healing potential, we also include a blend of sacred barks — a practice rooted in our lineage — which adds depth and dimension to the medicine.

The Role of Icaros in Ceremony

In many Amazonian shamanic traditions, icaros — sacred medicine songs — are a fundamental part of the healing process. More than simple melodies, icaros are vibrational tools through which the shaman communicates with the spirit world and channels the healing energies of the plants.

In our lineage, icaros are sung in a blend of Spanish, Quechua, and traditional vocal sounds. They are passed down from shaman to apprentice, and at times, received directly from the plants themselves. Each icaro carries its own purpose and energy, shaping the flow and depth of the ceremony.

Icaros are used to invoke plant spirits, guide the energy of the space, call in protection, calm or energise participants, assist with purging, and facilitate healing. They are not merely songs, but carriers of spiritual intelligence — direct expressions of the medicine itself. The shaman becomes a channel, allowing the voice of the plants to move through sound and vibration.

Ayahuasca Ceremony Guidelines

Before the ceremony, we will hold a group orientation to help you prepare. This session includes both practical guidance and reflections on how to approach the experience with presence, trust, and respect. We recommend wearing loose, comfortable clothing and arriving with an open heart and a quiet mind.

Each ceremony begins with meditation and grounding. The formal part of the ceremony usually lasts around three hours, though your personal experience may unfold beyond that. You are encouraged to surrender to the natural rhythm of the medicine and allow the process to guide you without expectation.

Throughout the ceremony, you will be held with care, integrity, and protection — guided by experienced facilitators in alignment with ancestral wisdom.

After each ceremony, we will gather for group integration, offering space for sharing, reflection, and any questions that may arise. Rest days are also woven into the schedule to allow time for relaxation and gentle integration of the experience.

Although you may have studied or read about Ayahuasca, it is important to release expectations, as they can limit the depth of your experience. Remember that every journey is unique — this will be your own personal encounter with the spirit of the plants.
